A Win!

Sorry about the tiny type, Blogger was playing up and wouldn't save so I sent this post to email and copied and pasted.

I really didn't think Facebook would do anything about Josh's account but they did. I went through the process of telling them what had happened and in the end had to provide photo ID. Thank goodness for his student ID card which has his name, photo and date of birth on it, I couldn't get the scanner to work yesterday so I just photographed it and they accepted it. We are now back in control of the account, have changed his password to something nobody would EVER guess, we had fun making it up, and made him up a new email account also with a hard password and I have written everything down and will put it somewhere safe. We then were able to see the ridiculous and in some cases, disgusting messages she left pretending to be him. We sat and methodically went through each one and sent an apology to each kid by private message, explaining what had happened, to their credit all of them were fine with it and most of them thanked me for explaining and apologising. One girl said that everyone hates Emily because she is so abusive. I told her that I am her mother and even I don't like her very much at the moment.
Geez, earlier I typed a really long post but lost Blogger and when it came back only the above had been saved. Bugger.
Carpet guy came earlier than expected so he came up here and picked up the keys and we wandered down later after I'd showered and dressed and tidied up around here. He was almost finished and once again did a stellar job. There is wear and tear from traffic but it's clean and he got some stains out that I didn't think possible. Stupid carpet, how ridiculous to have that colour especially in a rental property with a fucking fireplace. Once that was finished (after him charging a ridiculously low fee, I gave him extra) Josh and I walked downtown and put the mail redirection in at the post office, then went and had a late breakfast at our favourite cafe. I had scrambled eggs and bacon with cappucino and freshly squeezed orange juice, and Josh had a milkshake and pancakes with maple syrup. Bit of a mistake there 'cause he slurped most of his milkshake then was too full to finish his pancakes. But that's okay, he knows when to stop eating which is good. It was really nice and something we should do more often.
Then we went to the chemist where I bought some new makeup. Yay me, normally I would put it off till I was scraping stuff off the bottom of containers. I'm learning to take better care of me. I got some mineral powder foundation, some mineral blush and at Woolies some concealer and a new powder compact. We did the groceries and got a cab home. We also got Max a heated mattress. I put it in his hut but I don't think he's figure out it's heated yet, he'll appreciate it tonight. We're just lucky there are powerpoints on the back patio.
We went to the real estate and paid for one more day as I had forgotten to take the curtains I'd washed down and re-hang them. There are few other little things to be done too so we'll hand the keys in tomorrow. I know we're going to have a fight on our hands with Crazy Landlady. Luckily I found the inspection report that I thought I'd lost and a chip in the laminex is recorded. Josh said it was cracked and Emily leaning on it just made it come away. The house is old and falling down and she won't do anything to it. Liz, our old PM said if CL doesn't notice the burns on the carpet are new she won't say anything but made some comment about us having to replace the whole counter top. I asked Kynan (our new PM) about it this afternoon and he seems to think that if they try to do that we will have a case at the tribunal. And we will certainly go there, the stupid old bitch. Also says on the inspection report that the garden was full of weeds so we won't have to worry about doing that either.
We got two salmon tails with skin on for our dinner. I didn't have enough limes for our usual marinade so I made up a teriyaki one. Soy sauce, Chinese cooking wine, garlic, ginger, cracked pepper and a bit of sesame oil. I'll make my garlic potatoes, maybe some curly fries for Josh and we'll have it with salad. I want to make an Asian salad to use up the stuff from the other night and Josh will have his favourite "Family Salad" that I get in a bag from Woolies.
It's so nice sitting here at the dining table and looking out through the front window at the lovely view over the town.
It's so peaceful and easy here with just Josh and me. We are dreading Emily coming home but it's probably inevitable. I talked to Kate on the phone last night and told her I had no feelings of love toward Emily right now. I got very emotional because I feel so guilty admitting that, but it's how I feel, I can't help it. I have NEVER felt that way about any of my children, even when we've been at odds.
Anyway we will enjoy the next month or so of peace before it all starts again, because you can bet your life she won't get the right kind of help down there, especially when everyone is still making excuses for her. They aren't even doing any medical tests, which I think are crucial. In the end I think we will just find out she is a horrible, manipulative little bitch. Harsh, but it is what it is. I can't believe how Joshua is blossoming, his confidence is increasing and he is doing things he never would have done, and talking in a different, more positive way.
