Monty Python..... Oooh I never liked Him.

Or so my mother would say to the great hilarity of my brother Chris and me (who were and are die hard Python fans).  I just watched a doco on them and it brought back such great memories.  I first discovered Python when I was about 13 and for some reason was home alone when we still lived in Sydney and happened upon it on the tv.  I was instantly hooked and it probably fuelled my lifelong love of the absurd, although the pre-cursor to that was probably "The Frost Report" which featured the Two Ronnies and some of the Python team from memory.  Gave me some much needed laughs with the ongoing crap with a daughter who I'm sick of naming.  Kate and I found the url to her latest blog which is basically all lies and nonsense, that's okay, she is only fifteen but when the lies involve me it pisses me off no end.  Kate said she had to stop reading as the bad spelling was "hurting her eyes".
I made a lovely pot of pea and ham soup yesterday.  I used the recipe on the back of the pack of green split peas and it was so easy but so tasty.  There's heaps left, I'll take out some for my lunch tomorrow and freeze the rest.  I'm in a soup frenzy and have a couple of other recipes I want to try.
My show off husband got the fire going deftly tonight and it's burning beautifully behind me now with lots of wood he brought in to hopefully see us through the cold, cold night.  The house is so toasty warm, it's a different warm to electric or gas heaters.  I love that man. :)  (This week).  He's gone to work.  I did a roast lamb dinner tonight which was nice except HIS son puts tomato sauce on the meat and won't have gravy.  Mustn't have our genes, I remember baked dinners being one of my favourite meals when I was a kid and so does Phill.  And my mother wasn't the greatest cook, I think Phill's was better.
Kate is coming home on the 30th of this month, God knows where we'll be then but I can't wait to see her, we'll have so much fun.  I'm going up to Sydney to pick her up from the plane, not sure what other plans, everything is up in the air due to this ridiculous proposed move to who knows where.

With all the teenage angst you're dealing with.... at least you'll look great in your new boots :-) Good on you for holding the line.

I like Monty Python and our favourite theme song was The Aunty Jack Song - you can get a Monty Python Collection from Target or Big W can't remember which - a wood fire is heaven compared to the others
