I Want to Have Sex with Rick Stein

There I said it.  It's probably no surprise that I LOVE cooking shows, and have my favourites and he probably tops the list.  He has the most soothing voice, and expertise with seafood in particular but is down to earth and human.  He lives half the year near where my mother lives on the NSW south coast, just a half hour drive up the hill from her.  My dream is to stay at Bannisters sometime and eat in his restaurant (when he is there of course).  I was just watching a travel type show called "Getaway" that is an Aussie show and not only did they show K.D. Lang and our own Kate Ceberano exploring Melbourne and SINGING ON A TRAM (imagine being one of the other passengers that day!) but also an interview with him at Bannisters.  Could have done without hearing our Jen Hawkins say she watched "Friends" as a kid.  I was already in my 30's when that was shown here.
Yes it all needs a good clean.  I know.

I lit the fire for the first time tonight.  It's so cold we've had both the gas heater and the electric one on 24/7 and it must be costing us a fortune so I got the shovel and the tin and cleaned out the ash and digged out the wood basket and filled it up and am happy to say I have it lit and burning nicely and have turned the other ones off.  I have a couple of logs to keep it burning most of the night.  It's a pain in the arse and so dirty and messy but once it's lit it's lovely and warms the whole house eventually.
Still no word on the house, looks like it's not going to be so easy to find somewhere suitable up there.  There's no work there anyway and Phill's planned temp transfer on Sunday is off and he's down in the southern  highlands till Saturday.
Em and I got dodgy pizzas (again) last night so were both sick last night and the kids didn't go to school (again).  Josh will be tomorrow, made sure even though I was sick that I had all their clothes and stuff ready.  I had hardly any sleep and when I did get up at midday he was dressed in his school clothes but didn't want to wake me by getting his shoes out of my room.  I slowly came good during the day and was able to go down and get some supplies, I had some chicken soup for dinner and just now a ready made casserole thingy from the "Emily's Kitchen" range of ready meals which are great and don't taste like ready meals at all and just the right portion size.  Josh had hot dogs and Em had pizza subs but at least we ate and I feel a lot better.  Won't be getting pizza from there again (we said that last time though).

I used to love our old wood fire - even with the work - it warmed beautifully unlike other forms of heating
