Phill had a seafood platter, which was some fresh prawns and oysters and a bit of cooked seafood. And beer.
Saturday we vegged out a bit and Phill got in and cleaned up the messy house which got me motivated and we got it all done, everything, and then made the Fish Alaska we were going to have on Friday before we decided to go out to lunch. Phill and I had cocktails, we've decided to make this an Easter tradition.
And today we all slept late, Phill went down and got the papers and then we had eggs and bacon and good coffee for brunch.
The kids loved what the EB left them (mostly since Josh has been sick the past couple of days), I roasted a chicken, couldn't be bothered with stuffing so whacked a half a lemon, some fresh flat leaf parsley and some fresh thyme in the cavity, brushed it with melted butter and poured wine and chicken stock under the roasting rack. Decided not to do roast vegies but made a potato bake with sour cream, garlic, onion and Dijon mustard. Cooked it covered in the oven then put on some grated cheese and chopped up bacon. Phill made the best big mixed salad and we did a lovely wine gravy. We actually sat at the table all four of us and it was really nice.
This is our cake. I couldn't find my round cake tin and it just didn't turn out the same with square. I toasted the shredded coconut and they're white chocolate eggs.
Oh before this we had the egg hunt. Teenage children were THRILLED I tell you. NOT. It's a kiddie tradition that they want to hang on to, but I got bored hiding them and Em at least got bored finding them. Next year I said THEY can hide them we WE will look for them.
Josh didn't get out of his pjs all day (he's been sick).
Beautiful girl. It was warm here today we both wore sundresses.
A really nice family weekend, surprisingly. Tomorrow is ANZAC Day and my firsborn's wedding anniversary.

So good - I love your stories about your get togethers - I just know things will work out re Em - with all this in her background , all these good memories, once she comes out of the "dangerous" phase - I think you will find her your best friend...believe it or not
I agree with Middle Child.
The family that plays together, stays together. :0)
