The "My Little Pony" was a big hit, I don't think she put it down all day. This is the kid who never played with dolls, at least not in the conventional way. The Fisher Price dollshouse we gave her when she turned four was used over the years as everything but. Little Pony loved the mineral pool.
She went for a float on a surfboard.
But the current in the pool carried her down to the end. Guess who had to go get her?
She fell in the water (of course) and had to dry off on the pontoon while the kids swam.
Dad cooked two kinds of sausages and onions on the bbq. Yes there was LOTS leftover, we curried them for tomorrow night's dinner.
This was the only time the kids were quiet, they had a great time.
Josh was overdressed as usual but he had the last laugh later on. See the ponies on the tablecloth?
We ended up buying a cake but it was lovely, a really fresh sponge cake with fresh cream and jam.
The wind whipped up and blew out the candles for her.
There's that pony again.
That's Em with her new handbag. And the pony.
No Josh is not constipated. He's just silly.
It blew up gusty and rained but that was okay, but we were all in the water and were all freezing. It was really a lovely day. We left a bit early but got home in time to get some treats (yes more) for the kids, and get home and do some work and order them Chinese for dinner. We made the curried sausages but there was so much Chinese food (they were full of treats) we ended up all eating that and the sausages we can have tomorrow.
Emily declared it her best birthday ever and later posted this on her Facebook page.
"Thank you to all those who wished me a happy birthday, I had a wonderful day thanks to my amazing family. Hope you all had a wonderful day to! ♥ xx" It made me cry a little bit.
It's days like today that will help form their good childhood memories and that make me so happy and grateful for what we have. When all is well we truly enjoy each other's company. An hilarious conversation ensued in the pool among the four of us about female body parts that I cannot reveal here, but boy did we all guffaw. We had the whole place to ourselves luckily.
Emily gives us a LOT of grief but she also brings us so much joy and happiness and the day she was born was one of the very best days of our lives.
And thanks to those of you who posted birthday wishes, thank you, I told her about all of them (she's not allowed to read my blog).
Still can't believe my baby girl is fifteen. Just one year and she can legally leave home!!! (kidding........or am I?) ;)
