Floods!

Not here thankfully we're not near a big body of water and fairly flat, although the causeways are all up and the little creek is flowing.  It has rained and blown a gale for two days and nights and flooding has been reported in Culcairn and around Wagga.  We have to drive to Junee today to pick up a work car so Phill can go up north for a couple of weeks so I hope we can get there.  He is thinking of getting the train but he couldn't go to work yesterday due to tracks being washed away so that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
He slept on the lounge again last night so I was able to get some sleep after having virtually none the night before because of his snoring.  Until someone let the cats in but apparently didn't feed them, or fed them and let them back in so they were thumping up and down the hall at some ungodly hour.
A few months back I was itching for him to come home, I admit it was mostly to help deal with stuff that was going on here, but now I can't wait for him to be gone so I can get my life back.  I have so much to do in the house and other things for myself that I just can't get done while he's propped on the lounge all the time watching tv, burping and farting and making other silly noises.  Christ, do they ever grow up?
The careers woman at school, who organised the mentoring programme, has arranged for Emily to get some maths tutoring as she was seriously failing.  She's lined up a year 11 girl and for much cheaper than a professional tutor would be.  Emily is reluctant for some reason but Cath talked her into it yesterday so she's starting on Tuesday.  I think once she meets this girl and gets to know her she will feel more comfortable.  She really needs it and it will also be good for her to get to know someone who is older and will be a good role model for her.  The English assignment that was such a drama and was handed in too late for it to count, earned her 100% in marks.  We know she's got the ability, it's just harnessing it properly.  She starts year 10 next year so there's not more time to muck around and slack off.
I can't believe we're halfway through Spring and it's 3C outside.  Oh well we'll be whingeing about the heat soon enough.

Hmmm...as much as I could comment on this post... I am going to go with the maths thing. I have been nagging my daughter ALL year to join maths online to no avail. (Adem has been working with it all year!) Yesterday, the day of her first HSC exam I showed her and she said "OMG Mum I should have listened!" It is...apparently.. and I quote "AWESOME".

Sign up to Maths Online NOW...You join up yourself for free and add both the kids..they then log in as themselves when they want to AND they will send YOU reports....ITs all FREE! Kids get a lesson on each subject..a work sheet, which they then enter into the system. If they don't pass, it tells them and they can work on it! Too Easy..

FREE but found to my astonishment it is AWESOME! Teaching for FREE, practice for FREE! Try it! It is FREE LOL!
